Working for a privately owned organization that has never-ending possibilities, you will experience the exhilaration of being part of a company that designs some of the most beautiful jewelry collections, handbags, home and gift accessories and footwear in the marketplace - collected and treasured by our millions of loyal consumers. information about the position Reporting to the President, the Director of Visual Merchandising will be responsible for the conceptualization, development, implementation and direction of visual merchandising across all boutiques, specialty stores and Brighton’s own retail locations within the United States. You will manage and develop a team of merchandisers that can follow direction, meet tight deadlines, work with field personnel, communicate well verbally and give written direction effectively. The Director must be able to juggle multiple projects, be self-motivated and be willing to identify and develop new talent for the department. The Director must possess strong leadership skills and a point of view that is balanced with the goals and ideals of the company. Job Responsibilities: • Produce novel and unique concepts for merchandise presentation and train VM staff on implementation. • Produce quality work in a consistent, timely and organized manner and lead VM staff to do the same. • Complete projects on time and take ownership for projects from concept through implementation. • Develop and/or propose fixture design, new product introduction events, advertising and other merchandising activities and events. • Follow up on any new fixture or merchandising concepts sent to stores and provide training and guidance as needed. • Build, motivate, train and review staff. • Create new presentations and display techniques for windows, interiors and, from time to time, exteriors. • Train and develop the talent of those currently in place… Building a strong visual team is essential to success in the department. • Present all new concepts, seasonal presentations and Brighton event designs for review by the Executive team. Prepare drawings, sketches or images in your presentations. • Prepare timelines and resource needs for roll out of all new design initiatives or events. • Design, scope, plan and coordinate implementation of road show events, trade shows and fashion shows, managing multiple crews of Visual Merchandisers under tight time deadlines. • Communicate the essence of the Brighton brand in every Brighton store, independent boutique and Brighton event through visual elements. Job Requirements: • At least two years experience as director of visual merchandising for a national or established regional specialty retailer or wholesaler. • Understanding of store design, branding and presentation concepts; understand how each affect the customer experience. • Highly developed management and leadership skills. • Ability to self-motivate and set long term goals. • Ability to remain focused and be able to produce quality work quickly under pressure of constant deadlines. • Must have ability to communicate and convey ideas and concepts with all levels of company personnel and management. • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing a plus!.
