Job Description
Position Profile:
This position reports to the President and is responsible for the growth of sales, EBITDA and brand equity of Orvis and its subsidiaries. The position serves on the Executive Committee (EXCOM) and is considered one of the few positions within the company from which the company President would potentially rise.
Company Interfaces
The position reports directly to the President. Reporting to this position are the department heads for Catalog Marketing, Ecommerce Marketing, Advertising (Creative and Production) and possibly other business units.
The position often interfaces with the Board of Directors and is expected to maintain an ownership perspective regarding the entire health of the business regardless of departmental responsibility. The departments reporting to this position have contracts and work arrangements with numerous outside contractors and as a VP of this business, this position is expected to ensure those agreements are well managed to optimize business conditions for Orvis. This key role has important interactions with almost every department in the Company.
Key Performance Measurements
The position will be evaluated on the growth of contribution from the Consumer Direct Businesses, the effectiveness of retail marketing to drive traffic and conversion, the improved survey results in measuring progress toward our vision of becoming “the most respected lifestyle brand in America”.
Also critical determinants of success are the degree to which the individual:

Qualifications
• Proven senior management experience
• Sensitivities and discipline necessary to build and protect the brand
• Successful consumer-direct marketing
• Multi-channel background strongly preferred
