Job Description Merchandise Planner (Brisbane, CA)
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the planning and allocation of product for a specified category and/or classification. Develops seasonal plans by category and store and executes the necessary allocation strategy related to that plan.
Develops seasonal sales, inventory, and receipts plans by category/classification and re-forecasts the plan as actual trend dictates; Partners with Merchant to determine appropriate purchase quantities in accordance with the receipt plan on a monthly basis; Analyzes best sellers and identifies key trends on a weekly basis to effect future orders and maximize sales volume; Recommend all product consolidations; Identify styles for markdown and review with Merchant for approval and execution; Provide weekly, monthly and seasonal analysis for respective category/classification including sales and inventory performance, size selling analysis, and sales performance by store/district; Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; Additional responsibilities, duties, and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area; Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; Previous experience with Arthur Planning is preferable; Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously; Ability to cope with pressure, multiple deadlines, and working under pressure; Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with fellow co-workers.
