The Copywriter/Proofreader is a flexible, can-do writer with a contemporary approach to copy and impeccable attention to detail. This individual must be retail savvy with the ability to communicate through all channels using concise, benefit-driven copy that lives within established brand voice. Ideal candidate will be familiar with editing and proofing processes and comfortable taking direction from copy manager and creative director. Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to) Write branded copy for culinary program handouts, catalog inserts, emails and signage, as well as non-culinary program collateral pieces as needed Proofread all catalogs throughout production as well as non-catalog collateral as needed Research products/services to determine main selling features and benefits Adapt personal writing style to work seamlessly within established branded voice Prioritize multiple jobs within day/week in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Partner with designers, art directors, creative director and copy manager to generate compelling copy and creative solutions Write and proofread all copy with careful attention to spelling, grammar and legal requirements utilizing online resources and AP Style Guide Other duties as required Job Requirements (including but not limited to) BS/BA in Journalism, English, Communications or Marketing preferred 2+ years retail/agency writing experience Excellent knowledge of spelling, grammar and AP Style Proficiency in MS Word and Adobe InDesign Fast and accurate typing ability; 55 WPM minimum Excellent organizational skills An eye for detail; confident proofreading materials for accuracy and consistency Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment Skills to collaborate effectively within team on assigned projects Knowledge of cooking and culinary arts a plus
