Job Description:
This position reports directly to the Senior Entertainment Manager as a member of the PUMA North American Marketing team. Spearhead product placement within the celebrity community, maximizing these visibilities with the media and developing key relationships with talent and influencers on behalf of the PUMA brand. The coordinator will be a part of the company’s internal PR team and work hand in hand with the team and the national PR agency to garner entertainment placements for core product statements in the performance sport, sportlifestyle and fashion categories, and have a dual reporting structure into the Senior Marketing Manager for Public Relations.
A strong understanding of the lifestyle consumer marketplace including the sports industry and fashion markets is required. The ideal candidate will have a network of entertainment press/celebrity contacts including: talent, publicists, agents, managers, stylists and entertainment media, celebrity media. This role requires an engaging and proactive individual who is resourceful, organized, and self-motivated.
Job Responsibilities:
Celebrity Relations
* Identify and execute key seeding opportunities with celebrities and influencers
* Work cross functionally with category, retail and account marketing teams to develop and oversee celebrity based marketing activations, promotions and projects
* Respond to stylist requests for celebrity-specific opportunities, including magazine celebrity shoots, events, appearances
Media Relations – under supervision of Senior Marketing Manager, PR
* Collaborate on development of media outreach plan
* Proactively secure celebrity product placement in key celebrity driven publications, reaching out to media with celebrity items and celebrity product news/imagery
* Develop key media materials (i.e. email pitches) in line with celebrity placement efforts
* Assist PR team in creation and execution of seasonal editor events
Administrative
* Manage sample closet to maintain topical product releases for celebrity editorial
* Create and maintain celebrity media and stylist databases
* Generate regular status reports on celebrity relations, the celebrity marketplace and press placements
* Track spending against celebrity product and marketing budgets
* Manage and support the growth of the Internship Program
* Support the daily operations of the office, adhering to policies and procedures and maintaining a well operated office
Travel: 20-30%
Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing or PR
* 1-2 years agency experience in a Public Relations or Marketing agency
* Intimate knowledge of the entertainment industry including a network of celebrity and media contacts
* Strong communicator with excellent writing and organization skills
* Project management experience with an attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A passion for the sport and fashion industries
* Strong computer skills, with knowledge of basic MS Office programs, particularly power point
