Job Description Merchandise Planner

POSITION SUMMARY
Create and manage the Class and Brand Plans through both pre-season and in season timeframes. Be the financial partner with the Merchant and Brand to grow and drive the business from the inventory perspective.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create and maintain pre-season Class, Sub-Class, and Brand Plans partnering with Merchants, Vendors, and Inventory Strategists to support and drive merchandising strategies
· Create monthly OTB forecasts for Brand sales and inventory needs and conduct monthly cross-functional OTB meetings
· Communicate to Brands action points to address inventory
· Present inventory strategy updates at monthly Opps review meetings.
· Develop newness/ launch targets, by Brand, and validate all newness orders
· Manage, coach and develop Assistant Merchandise Planners
· Manage, coach and develop Merchandise Planning Assistants to prioritize and maintain POs including sku set up, and other responsibilities as required
· Additional projects as required.
REQUIREMENTS
1. 2 to 4 years Inventory Management experience (BA, BS preferred)
2. Proficiency with MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
3. Strong Inventory Management planning skills
4. Strong problem solving, negotiation, and analytical skills
5. Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
7. Keen attention to detail.
8. Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing environment.
9. Experience managing direct reports preferred
10. Flexible; team player
